Simi Valley had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Golden Valley Grizzlies 3-0 on Tuesday. The Pioneers have beaten the Grizzlies the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Grizzlies has come to flipping the script.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 25-19, 26-24.

Coming up, Simi Valley will venture away from home to take on Brentwood School at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Golden Valley, they will host Santa Clarita Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
