Softball Game Preview: Georgetown Bulldogs vs. Dillon Wildcats

Georgetown is 2-8 against Dillon since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Georgetown easily dispatched Waccamaw on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Bulldogs fell just short of Green Sea Floyds by a score of 6-4 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered since February 24, 2024.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Dillon's offense. They came up short against Male on Wednesday, falling 10-0.

Dillon's loss dropped their record down to 4-9-1. As for Georgetown, the defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 6-4.

Everything went Georgetown's way against Dillon in their previous matchup back in March, as Georgetown made off with an 11-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
