Baseball Recap: Terry Comes Up Short

Terry had lost five straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 4-19 to make it six. They lost 12-0 to the Germantown Mavericks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mavericks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-0 back in March.

As for Germantown, the victory got them back to even at 13-13. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

For Germantown's part, Brayden Simpson tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Simpson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Germantown let Will Sheehan and John Riley North run wild. Sheehan got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base, while North went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Germantown is undefeated when Sheehan posts two or more runs, but 9-13 otherwise. Brayden Quick was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Terry will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on George County at 6:00 p.m. on the 25th. As for Germantown, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-4 victory against West Jones on the 17th.
