The Miyamura Patriots will challenge the Bloomfield Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Miyamura will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Thursday, then bounced right back against Shiprock on Tuesday. The Patriots put the hurt on the Chieftains with a sharp 13-1 victory.

Brady Antonio and Xavier Brown made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Antonio struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Brown tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Antonio has become a key player for Miyamura: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 8-10 otherwise. At bat, Antonio went 2-for-3 with three RBI, while Brown went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those three RBI gave Antonio a new career-high.
In other batting news, Miyamura got a massive performance out of Shane Escajeda, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. Escajeda is becoming a predictor of the Patriots' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 9-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Caraveo, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
Miyamura kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Bloomfield never got on the board in their matchup on Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Kirtland Central on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-8 margin over the Broncos. The win continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now won seven in a row.
Bloomfield let Johnny Yates and Gavin Pecotte run wild. Yates fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Pecotte went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Pecotte also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Blake Spencer, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Bloomfield's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Miyamura, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.
Miyamura might still be hurting after the 10-1 defeat they got from Bloomfield in their previous meeting last Saturday. Will the Patriots have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
