Baseball Recap: San Pedro Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact San Pedro can now relate to. They fell just short of the Verdugo Hills Dons by a score of 5-4 on Saturday. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2021.

Braydon Griffin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

San Pedro's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-15. As for Verdugo Hills, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-16.

San Pedro does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Verdugo Hills, they will square off against Banning at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pilots will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Dons surely won't give up without a fight.
