Baseball Recap: Southwestern Comes Up Short

Southwestern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fennimore Golden Eagles. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Golden Eagles from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Southwestern's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Fennimore, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Golden Eagles beat Southwestern by a score of 9-1 later that day.
