Volleyball Recap: Olivia Dahlenburg Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Westville

North White posted their closest win since September 10, 2024 on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Westville Blackhawks 2-1. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 2-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

North White's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Olivia Dahlenburg, who had seven kills, four digs, and four blocks. Those four blocks gave Dahlenburg a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Hunt, who had seven digs, two aces, and one block.

Alyssa Bechinske and Lydia Green certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Bechinske had 12 kills, eight digs, and two blocks, while Green had four digs and three aces.

The win got North White back to even at 1-1. As for Westville, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

North White wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Lake Station Edison on the 16th. As for Westville, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Tri-Central on the 16th.
