Softball Recap: Alcona Takes a Loss

Alcona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 16-4 to the Rogers City Hurons. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Hurons this season, with their most recent defeat being a 16-1 loss on Tuesday.

Claire Somers made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Elliyana Grimshaw, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Alcona's defeat dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Rogers City, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Alcona does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rogers City, they will welcome Bellaire at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
