Softball Recap: College Park Falcons vs. Cardinal Newman Cardinals
College Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cardinal Newman Cardinals. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Falcons have suffered since April 18, 2024.

Savannah Wilson was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.
Wilson wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Weiler, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base was Weiler's first of the season.
College Park's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Cardinal Newman, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Falcons coming up. As for Cardinal Newman, they will be playing at home against Rancho Cotate at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
