Football Game Preview: Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars vs. Faith Lutheran Crusaders

The Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars will take on the Faith Lutheran Crusaders at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pinecrest Academy Cadence has four straight wins, Faith Lutheran has ten straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Monday, Pinecrest Academy Cadence made easy work of Chaparral and carried off a 33-13 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won eight contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Danielle Maurer, who rushed for 99 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns Maurer has posted since back in December of 2024. Leyton Gasperosky was another key signal caller, throwing for 197 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.5% of her passes.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Faith Lutheran's offense. They were dealt a 47-0 defeat at the hands of Coronado on Friday.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.2 points. As for Faith Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Everything came up roses for Pinecrest Academy Cadence against Faith Lutheran in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 33-6 victory.
