Basketball Recap: Toppenish Drops Season-High Score on Othello

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Toppenish). They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Othello Huskies 77-23. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 32 points or more this season.

Toppenish's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tatiana Camacho led the charge by as she made all 6 shots she took to post 13 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Samiah Baker, who went 5 of 6 on her way to 14 points.

Toppenish smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Toppenish's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Othello, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Toppenish will take on Ellensburg at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ellensburg will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Toppenish surely won't give up without a fight. As for Othello, they will square off against Wenatchee at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Othello is facing Wenatchee at the right time seeing as Wenatchee is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
