Baseball Recap: Dickinson Victorious

While Dickinson's victory against McKean wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Rams had just enough and edged out the Highlanders 3-2 on Tuesday. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Highlanders recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Carter Nelson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has become a key player for Dickinson: the team is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-3 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Dickinson's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Luke Trzeciakiewicz, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Dickinson now has a winning record of 5-4. As for McKean, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Coming up, Dickinson will square off against Odyssey Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for McKean, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Wilmington Charter. The Force have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.75 runs per game on average), something the Highlanders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
