Softball Recap: Margaretta Takes a Loss

If Margaretta was feeling good fresh off their 15-5 takedown of Bellevue last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Margaretta lost 15-3 to the Monroeville Eagles on Thursday. The Polar Bears were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Cassidy Lane was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Lane was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

Lane wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lilah Deeks, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

Margaretta's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Monroeville, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0.

Looking ahead, Margaretta will head out to take on Avon Lake at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Monroeville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bellevue at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
