Football Recap: Pee Dee Academy Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Pee Dee Academy couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They were beaten by the Bethesda Academy Blazers 54-15 on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blazers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-0 back in October.

Although Pee Dee Academy took the loss, they still got scores from Walker Trussell and Tristan Heckman.

Bethesda Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Cheever, who rushed for 137 yards and three TDs on only nine carries. Cheever's longest rush was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another signal caller making a difference was Jordan Turner, who threw for 138 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes.

The loss snapped Pee Dee Academy's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-4 record. As for Bethesda Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
