Fernley skates past Dayton with ease

Recap: Fernley Vaqueros vs. Dayton Dust Devils

The Fernley Vaqueros have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 24 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Dayton 65-19 at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-10.

Fernley was led to victory by Jaelece Wasson and Jasmyne Torres. Wasson scored 16 points, while Torres scored 16 points along with three steals. The match was Wasson's 13th in a row with at least ten points. Kaiserita Otuafi was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Dayton struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Fernley racked up 22 assists.

Fernley's win bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Dayton, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fernley won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against South Tahoe at 1:00 p.m. on January 6th. South Tahoe is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. As for Dayton, they will be playing at home against Spring Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Spring Creek is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
