Baseball Recap: Regent Prep Comes Up Short

If Regent Prep was riding high fresh off their 10-2 takedown of Depew on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Regent Prep fell just short of the Henryetta Knights by a score of 9-7 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Regent Prep has suffered since May 2, 2025.

Regent Prep got a good showing from Eli Carter, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Cai Brookover stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Phelps, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Regent Prep's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Henryetta, their victory bumped their record up to 16-4.

Coming up, Regent Prep will square off against Nathan Hale at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rangers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.79 runs per game on average), something Regent Prep will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Henryetta, they will welcome Oklahoma Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
