On Friday, Howe had to settle for second even though Riley McCollum put up the best numbers she has all season. McCollum kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. Thanks to that strong showing, she's now averaging 5.1 strikeouts per game. Those 13 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
