Preview: Reed-Custer Comets vs. Beecher Bobcats

The Reed-Custer Comets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Beecher Bobcats at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Reed-Custer beat Streator 48-42. The win made it back-to-back wins for Reed-Custer.

It was another big night for Kaylee Tribble, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 18 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Beard, who scored 12 points along with three steals.

Meanwhile, Beecher had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four last Thursday. They strolled past Tri-Point with points to spare, taking the game 48-33.

The win got Reed-Custer back to even at 11-11. As for Beecher, the victory also got them back to even at 10-10.

Reed-Custer came up short against Beecher when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 33-28. Can Reed-Custer avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
