Basketball Recap: Brooke Schaefer Key Part of Team Effort in Wildcats Win

It's playoff time, and Fleming had no trouble coming through when it counted. They enjoyed a cozy 45-28 win over the Cheyenne Wells Tigers on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fleming to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brooke Schaefer, who posted 13 points and five steals. What's more, Schaefer posted two blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Hayley Chamberlain was another key player, putting up 13 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

When it comes to explaining why Cheyenne Wells lost, don't look at Paige Ryser. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points and five steals. Ryser has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 22 times she's played.

Fleming's victory bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Cheyenne Wells, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-9 record.

Fleming didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-29 defeat against Stratton on the 13th. Cheyenne Wells does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
