Neptune (N.J.) girls sprint relay sets state record as well.

St. Peter's Prep (Jersey City, N.J.) star Najee Glass became the latest New Jersey track athlete to make noise beyond state boundaries, eclipsing the 500-meter-dash national record with a clocking of 1 minute, 2.22 seconds last Friday at the New Balance Games at the New Balance Track and Field Center in New York. The senior's time surpassed the previous mark of 1:02.44 set by Mike Green of Boston in 1984.

Also at the New Balance Games, the Neptune (N.J.) girls sprint relay set a state record and recorded the country's swiftest time this season as its posting of 4:00.33 edged Willingboro's previous mark of 4:01.41 set in 2003.

Finally, Livingston's Jeramy Elkaim qualified for this Friday's Millrose Games with the nation's third fastest time in the mile, touching the tape in 4:15.05.
