Morningside Academy won the last time they faced Pineapple Cove Classical Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Eagles (Eddy) blew past the Patriots 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Morningside Academy took every set by at least 15 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-10, 25-10.

Despite the defeat, Pineapple Cove Classical Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Iyani Alerte had 14 digs and three aces. Alerte is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Morningside Academy now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Pineapple Cove Classical Academy, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.
