Preview: North Crawford Trojans vs. Abundant Life/St. Ambrose Academy
North Crawford is 1-0 against Abundant Life/St. Ambrose Academy since August of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The North Crawford Trojans will be playing at home against the Abundant Life/St. Ambrose Academy at 7:00 p.m. North Crawford is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
After only 12 points in their last game, North Crawford made sure to put some points up on the board against Wonewoc-Center/Weston on Thursday. North Crawford simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Wonewoc-Center/Weston 38-6 at home. The result was nothing new for North Crawford, who have now won three contests by 32 points or more so far this season.
Meanwhile, Abundant Life/St. Ambrose Academy faced Oakfield in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Abundant Life/St. Ambrose Academy ended up on the wrong side of a rough 54-28 walloping at the hands of Oakfield on Friday. Abundant Life/St. Ambrose Academy's loss signaled the end of their 6-game winning streak.
The losing side was boosted by Paul Emmel, who rushed for 120 yards and three touchdowns. Emmel is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played.
Even if they lost, Abundant Life/St. Ambrose Academy's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Emmel and his two sacks.
North Crawford's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.7 points per game. As for Abundant Life/St. Ambrose Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.
North Crawford strolled past Abundant Life/St. Ambrose Academy when the teams last played back in August by a score of 28-10. Will North Crawford repeat their success, or does Abundant Life/St. Ambrose Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
