Baseball Recap: Argos Comes Up Short

Argos extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 28 on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-11 in the process. They came up short against the North Judson-San Pierre Bluejays, falling 18-8. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bluejays this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-1 on Thursday.

Conner Miller made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Brady Montgomery also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

As for North Judson-San Pierre, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.5 runs over those games.

On North Judson-San Pierre's side, Owen Timm was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Timm continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Benson, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Coming up, Argos will host Culver Community at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for North Judson-San Pierre, they will be playing at home against Elkhart Christian Academy at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bluejays' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season.
