Softball Recap: Mercersburg Academy Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Jefferson County, Mercersburg Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They skirted past the Patrick Henry Patriots 3-1.

Peyton Appenzellar spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Mercersburg Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaz Garnett, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Kamden Jenkins was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

The victory got Mercersburg Academy back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Mercersburg Academy will take on Central Columbia at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Patrick Henry, they will face off against Laurel Highlands at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
