Baseball Game Preview: Montini Catholic Broncos vs. Saint Viator Lions

The Montini Catholic Broncos will square off against the Saint Viator Lions at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Montini Catholic will be strutting in after a victory while Saint Viator will be coming in after a loss.

Montini Catholic is returning to their home field after beating Riverside-Brookfield on theirs, despite the fact Riverside-Brookfield has dominated at home this season. The Broncos walked away with an 8-5 win over the Bulldogs on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Broncos.

Meanwhile, Saint Viator was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 12-8 to St. Francis.

Brock Harer was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Saint Viator is 3-1 when Harer posts two or more runs, but 3-7 otherwise. Branden Hynek was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs.

Montini Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Saint Viator, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Montini Catholic couldn't quite get it done against Saint Viator in their previous matchup back in April of 2017 as they fell 11-7. Can the Broncos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
