Baseball Game Preview: Enterprise Yellowjackets vs. Sacred Heart Crusaders

Enterprise is a perfect 3-0 against Sacred Heart since March of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Enterprise Yellowjackets will head out to take on the Sacred Heart Crusaders at 7:00 p.m.

Enterprise took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Sacred Heart by a score of 6-3. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Kelly Burgess spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February of 2024.

At the plate, Haygan Floyd was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Enterprise is undefeated when Floyd posts two or more runs, but 1-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jiles Williams, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Enterprise pushed their record up to 6-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 9.25 hits in those games compared to only 5.4 in the others. As for Sacred Heart, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season.
