Stonington has gone 8-1 against Woodstock Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Bears will venture away from home to face off against the Centaurs at 12:00 p.m. Stonington's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Woodstock Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Stonington came into this matchup off a tough seven-run loss last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Ledyard by a score of 4-2 on Thursday. The Bears have struggled against the Colonels recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Woodstock Academy hadn't done well against East Lyme recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Centaurs came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 13-9. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Centaurs considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Maci Corradi and Madison Bloom did most of the damage at the plate: Corradi got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one double, while Bloom got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those four RBI gave Corradi a new career-high. Faith Sortwell was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs.

Woodstock Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

The victory got Woodstock Academy back to even at 6-6. As for Stonington, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Stonington took their win against Woodstock Academy when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 9-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
