Softball Recap: Capuchino Extends Road Winning Streak to Six

Capuchino got themselves on the board against Burlingame on Tuesday, but Burlingame never followed suit. They blew past the Panthers 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Star Gutierrez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Dana Motroni, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Capuchino was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Burlingame only posted a batting average of .062.

Capuchino pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Burlingame, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Capuchino will head out to challenge Aragon at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Burlingame, they will venture away from home to take on San Mateo at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bearcats have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
