Basketball Game Preview: Campbell County Camels vs. Thunder Basin Bolts

Two dominant guards in Lane Hladky and Gibson Williams are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Campbell County Camels will welcome the Thunder Basin Bolts at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Campbell County has seven straight victories, Thunder Basin has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Campbell County is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Wyoming's top teams: Sheridan, who was ranked second at the time (Campbell County was ranked third). Campbell County walked away with a 75-68 win over Sheridan on Friday. The score was all tied up 38-38 at the break, but the Camels were the better team in the second half.

Campbell County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jack Andela led the charge by going 10-for-14 en route to 24 points and eight rebounds. What's more, Andela also posted a 71% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2024. Brode Jarvis was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Meanwhile, Thunder Basin lost to East on the road by a 75-60 margin last Saturday.

Campbell County pushed their record up to 12-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points over those games. As for Thunder Basin, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Campbell County skirted past Thunder Basin 65-62 in their previous meeting back in January. Will Campbell County repeat their success, or does Thunder Basin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
