Softball Recap: Northview Has No Trouble Against Franklin County

Northview won the last time they faced Franklin County and things went their way on Friday too. The Northview Chiefs blew past the Franklin County Seahawks 12-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chiefs.

Mikayla McAnally made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. She also brought in three RBI, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Daviona Randolph and Riley Brooks did most of the damage at the plate: Randolph scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Brooks scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Randolph also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Avery Stuckey was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

Northview now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Franklin County, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 7-2 record.

Northview has already played their next contest, a 9-0 victory against Glenwood on the 7th. As for Franklin County, they will take on Suwannee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
