Rowlett is 8-2 against Wylie since March of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Rowlett Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Wylie Pirates at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Rowlett faced off against Garland on Tuesday. Rowlett fell just short of Garland by a score of 1-0. It was the first time this season that the Eagles let down their fans at home.

Meanwhile, Wylie didn't have quite enough to beat Naaman Forest on Tuesday and fell 3-2. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Pirates came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 148th in Texas, while the Rangers are ranked 407th in Texas).

CRISTIAN AVILES and ZACH ALSAHLI scored both of Wylie's goals, bringing their combined season tally to ten goals.

Rowlett's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 8-3. As for Wylie, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-4.

Rowlett was able to grind out a solid win over Wylie in their previous matchup back in January, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rowlett since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
