Basketball Recap: CAMERON BRUNK's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Northside L over Kokomo Homeschool

After flying high against Living Water Homeschool last Monday, Northside L came back down to earth. The Northside L Lions fell 66-55 to the Kokomo HomeSchool Eagles on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 82-54 back in October of 2024.

Northside L's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was CAMERON BRUNK, who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine assists. Those 19 points gave BRUNK a new career-high. ETHAN RODECKER was another key player, putting up 21 points and three steals.

BRUNK wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Northside L was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now racked up at least 21 assists in three consecutive matchups.

Kokomo HomeSchool's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Drew Beery, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 15 points. Beery is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jude Hogsett, who posted 13 points and six rebounds.

Northside L dropped their record down to 16-16-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Kokomo HomeSchool, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 26-7.

Northside L wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-43 victory against Horizon Christian on the 18th. As for Kokomo HomeSchool, they have also already played their next game, a 50-39 loss against Benton HomeSchool on the 14th.
