Shelby is a perfect 7-0 against Cherryville since March of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Golden Lions will venture away from home to take on the Ironmen at 6:00 p.m. Shelby is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Shelby hadn't beaten East Gaston on the road since March 15, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Golden Lions came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 3-1. Given Shelby's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 85th, while East Gaston are ranked 208th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Cherryville fell victim to Highland Tech and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They lost 9-0 to the Rams. That's two games in a row now that Cherryville have lost by exactly nine goals.

Shelby pushed their record up to 19-0 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Cherryville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Everything went Shelby's way against Cherryville when the teams last played back in March, as Shelby made off with a 9-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Lions since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
