Baseball Recap: Tornillo Comes Up Short

Tornillo's last matchup with Clint could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Friday. The Tornillo Coyotes lost 11-1 to the Clint Lions. The Coyotes' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Tornillo saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jeter Luna, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Leonel Ruvalcaba also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Tornillo's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Clint, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-4-1.

Coming up, Tornillo will be taking part in a tournament against Irvin at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tornillo has given up an average of 9.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Clint, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Lions challenge the Wildcats at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
