Basketball Recap: Spring-Ford Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Spring-Ford's tournament run continued when they took on West Ashley on Saturday. The Spring-Ford Rams took a 53-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Ashley Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 95th in Pennsylvania, while the Wildcats are ranked 32nd in South Carolina).

West Ashley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Damon Junior out in front who went 6 of 11 en route to 14 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendell Mack, who posted 12 points.

Spring-Ford's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4. As for West Ashley, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5.

Spring-Ford and Loudoun Valley will round out the year against one another at at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Spring-Ford is facing Loudoun Valley at the right time seeing as Loudoun Valley is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for West Ashley, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the West Ashley Wildcats challenge the Augusta Christian Lions at 1:45 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Augusta Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests.
