Volleyball Recap: Arcadia Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Arcadia was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Marcos de Niza on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Titans fell just short of the Mesquite Wildcats by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Arcadia took Mesquite into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-21, 24-26, 22-25, 15-9.

Riley Rooney paced Arcadia's offense, picking up 15 kills. Rooney got some help from Jade Smith and her 43 assists. Smith was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Arcadia's defeat dropped their record down to 17-12. As for Mesquite, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season.

Arcadia has already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Marcos de Niza on the 29th. As for Mesquite, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Cactus Shadows on the 28th.
