Football Game Preview: Madison Mavericks vs. Clark Cougars

The Madison Mavericks will square off against the Clark Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

On Friday, Madison lost to Reagan at home by a 29-13 margin. The Mavericks have struggled against the Rattlers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Clark strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 28-21 victory over Churchill. Things were looking grim for the Cougars in the second quarter (they were down by 21) but they stormed back to get the game.

One reason for the win was Clark's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Ayden O'Donnell and Canaan Kneubuhl, who racked up all six sacks between them.

Madison's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Clark, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.
