Baseball Recap: Golden Wins Going Away Against Denver South

Golden won the last time they faced Denver South and things went their way on Monday too. The Demons were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Ravens. The result was nothing new for the Demons, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Taden Svendsen looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Liam Leffert, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Charlie Thompson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Golden is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Denver South, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Golden will square off against Longmont at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Denver South, they will face off against Rangeview at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
