Softball Recap: Forrest Comes Up Short

Forrest blew Summit out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Summit got their revenge. The Rockets fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Rockets have suffered since May 8, 2024.

Forrest has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Summit, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-9.

Looking ahead, Forrest will look to defend their home field on Monday against Riverdale at 6:00 p.m. As for Summit, they will face off against Pope John Paul II at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season.
