Basketball Recap: Kayly Cline's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Knightstown over Daleville

After flying high against Hagerstown on Saturday, Knightstown came back down to earth. The Panthers fell 56-47 to the Daleville Broncos on Tuesday. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Broncos apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

Knightstown lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kayly Cline, who shot 45% from the field on her way to 13 points and three steals. Cline is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexi Thomas, who posted eight points and four steals.

Modlene Campbell produced another solid effort dropping a double-double with 14 points and 17 boards for Daleville. The dominant performance also gave Campbell a new career-high in blocks (four). Another player making a difference was Addisyn Gothrup, who earned 14 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Knightstown fell to 3-1. As for Daleville, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Knightstown will square off against Centerville at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Daleville, they will take on Wapahani at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
