Baseball Recap: Sidney Takes a Loss

Sidney had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 6-18 to make it five. They lost 10-4 to the Versailles Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Yellowjackets have suffered since April 30th.

Sidney saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashton Rose, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Zavier Perry was another, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Versailles, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games.

On Versailles' side, Ben Subler was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Subler has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Keiser, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Sidney will square off against Miamisburg at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Versailles does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
