Basketball Recap: Homer Mariners vs. Ninilchik Wolverines
Homer lost against Ninilchik last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Homer Mariners received a blow as they fell 72-58 to the Ninilchik Wolverines.
Kade McCorison was his usual excellent self, going 11 of 21 on his way to 31 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists for Ninilchik. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which McCorison has scored at least a third of Ninilchik's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andon McCorison, who went 7 for 15 en route to 19 points and five boards.
Homer's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Ninilchik, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Homer will be taking part in a tournament against North Pole at 3:30 p.m. on February 1st. As for Ninilchik, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Homer at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th.
