Basketball Recap: Lincoln Charter Piles Up the Points Against North Surry

Lincoln Charter had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took their match on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 76-45 win over the North Surry Greyhounds. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 23 points or more this season.

David Reed IV was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 23 points and 24 boards. Those 24 rebounds gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Krishtan Flowers, who went 7-for-10 to rack up 18 points.

Cade Atkins and Anthony Williams certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Atkins shot 46% from the field en route to 17 points, while Williams posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Jhett Tolbert, who earned four points and six boards.

Lincoln Charter is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.0 points over those games. North Surry moved to 24-5 with that loss, which also ended their 18-game winning streak.

Coming up, Lincoln Charter will host Bandys at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Bandys' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matchups. North Surry does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
