Recap: West Broward Bobcats vs. Everglades Gators

The West Broward Bobcats had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 59 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 23-14 victory over Everglades. That result was just more of the same for these two, as West Broward also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.

West Broward's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jonathan Morillo, who threw for 241 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah DeWoskin, who gained 130 total yards.

West Broward's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 10.5 times. The heavy lifting was done by Luis Rojas and Tristan Lewis who racked up 8.5 sacks between them.

Everglades' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Duane Manor Jr., who picked up 145 receiving yards and a touchdown.

West Broward pushed their record up to 7-4 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 38.0 points per game. As for Everglades, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

West Broward will be playing in front of their home fans against South Dade at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Everglades does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
