            Baseball Recap: Bryan Golden Bears vs. Shawnee Indians        
        
		
        
        
            Bryan extended their losing streak  to five  on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 8-10 in the process. They lost  9-2 to the Shawnee Indians. The Golden Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in May of 2023.
As for Shawnee,  the  win made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 4-15. That seven run margin sets a new team best for them this season.
For Shawnee's part,  Bryce Windau looked comfortable as he  pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits.
 At the plate, Shawnee got a  massive  performance out of  Tate Bender, who  went 1-for-2 with one  home run, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. Those  two  runs gave  Bender a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Carder Daily, who  went 2-for-4 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 Coming up, Bryan will take on Defiance at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their  15th straight  victory, something the Golden Bears surely won't give up without a fight. As for Shawnee, they will head out on the road to  square off against  St. Henry  at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday. The Redskins will roll in looking for their  fourth straight  win, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight.
