After having lost a blowout in their previous game against East Rowan, Lake Norman was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Davie War Eagles 9-7. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the War Eagles last Tuesday, they had to take a 6-5 loss.

Nick Mavroudis was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Andres Acurero, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Lake Norman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.

Lake Norman's record is now 7-2. As for Davie, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Lake Norman has already played their next contest, a 12-1 victory against A.L. Brown on the 18th. As for Davie, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 16-0 win against Parkland on the 18th.
