Basketball Recap: North Port Victorious

North Port won the last time they faced Bayshore and things went their way on Monday too. The North Port Bobcats narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Bayshore Bruins 66-63. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bobcats have posted against the Bruins since January 16, 2020.

Despite the loss, Bayshore still got an impressive performance from Kaiden Friedman, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 18 points and five steals. Those five steals gave Friedman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jayce Brave, who went 5 of 9 en route to 10 points.

North Port's win bumped their record up to 5-16. As for Bayshore, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season.

North Port will head out on the road to challenge Community School of Naples at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in North Port's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups. As for Bayshore, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-32 defeat against Parrish Community on the 28th.
