The Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Unity Christian Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond has five straight victories, Unity Christian has 24 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

You can't lose the match if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's strategy against Heritage on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond blew Heritage out of the water with a 72-45 final score. Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond pushed the score to 56-33 by the end of the third, a deficit Heritage had little chance of recovering from.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Will Hilligoss led the charge by scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Connor Nettles, who scored 24 points.

Meanwhile, Unity Christian was beaten by Cumberland 70-38 on Friday. Unity Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-17.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-16. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Unity Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-24.

Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond might still be hurting after the 69-43 defeat they got from Unity Christian when the teams last played back in January of 2023. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond was down 33-13.
