Gus Vaughn posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Saturday. He struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Considering he played a big game the last time he faced off against Sargent on Saturday, the result shouldn't come as too huge a shock.

Vaughn and Dolores will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cedaredge at 2:00 p.m. on May 9. The Bears will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 175 places lower in Colorado), but they're not letting that get them down.
