Volleyball Recap: Delavan-Darien's Winning Streak Snapped at Five Games

After a string of five wins, Delavan-Darien's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to the Jefferson Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.

Delavan-Darien couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Jefferson a tough time in the third set. The final score came out to 25-19, 23-25, 32-30, 25-21.

Morgan Weiss paced Delavan-Darien's offense, picking up 17 kills. Weiss got some help from Janelle Damrow and her 20 assists. Finally, Mia Wolfer kept Delavan-Darien's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Delavan-Darien's defeat dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Jefferson, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-13 record this season.

Delavan-Darien wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Monroe on the 9th. As for Jefferson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against East Troy on the 9th.
